Dear colleagues, valued business partners and customers,

'Proactivity is everything' – this guiding principle not only reflects our mindset at ALPLA but also shapes our daily actions. This report demonstrates the impact of our forward-thinking and determined approach to show what we’ve already achieved, and what still lies ahead.

We take pride in the progress we’ve made. Our ambitious climate targets, for example, have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). We have once again received the EcoVadis Gold rating and we are continuously expanding our global recycling capacity, which is clear proof of our long-term commitment to circular-economy solutions. These and many other developments highlighted in this report are the direct result of our proactive mindset and close collaboration with our customers, suppliers and partners.

This year’s report also marks an important milestone: it is our first sustainability report based on the new European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). With this, we are taking a major step towards greater transparency and comparability in how we communicate our sustainability performance.

At the same time, our ‘proactivity is everything’ motto serves as a reminder that there is still much to do. Decarbonising our operations, increasing material efficiency, enhancing our long-term resilience and deepening cooperation across the value chain remain key priorities for strengthening our contribution to a more sustainable future. In this context, we also believe it is important to foster fact-based communication about the role of plastic. Through initiatives like ‘Plastic Is Fantastic’, we aim to support a balanced discussion focused on knowledge sharing and constructive solutions.

I would like to thank all colleagues and partners who continue to shape this journey and work every day to make ALPLA more sustainable, more innovative and more future-ready. Let’s continue on this path together with courage, commitment and true proactivity to ensure that safe, affordable and sustainable packaging remains available to people around the world.
